Day 6, 30 in 30 days, "Medvjed" by Natasa Vretenar

The bear (ursus arctos) is the largest animal in Bosnia and Hercegovina. I have never seen one in the wild, but they are definitely there! A few years back a shepherd killed a bear with his bare hands in Hercegovina. They can grow to be quite large - up to 450 kg.

This painting is 36x48" - a large one. I feel more comfortable painting large. My imagination has room to roam. Tomorrow I will be back to small painting though - i do like a good challenge and honing my skills to paint small details with a palette knife.
