#61 Turtle, Canada 150 paintings by Natasa Vretenar

We had a chance to visit an aquarium in NC that had a space designated for turtle rescue. Turtles get frostbite and would die if they are not rescued and nurtured back to health. It was in November so they were getting hundreds of turtles in to save. It is quite an effort that they put into it, and locals help with volunteering.
Since this is a series about Canadian species - here is a link that lists all the species living in Canada.  http://canadianbiodiversity.mcgill.ca/english/species/herps/testudines.htm
